Resumo: In recent years, saliva has been shown to possess biomarkers capable of diagnosing different diseases, including gastric cancer. Here we present a systematic review (PROSPERO CRD42021259519) with the aim of evaluating biomarkers closer to clinical use. We identified markers of different molecular nature, of which 3 proteins stand out (CSTB, TPI1 and DMBT1), which in the validation stage presented high diagnostic accuracy. Salivary biomarkers have great potential for the detection of stomach cancer; however, it is recommended in subsequent studies to improve the design and execution phases of the research in order to obtain better quality evidence.

SciELO PreprintsSciELO PreprintsSciELO Preprints2021-11-12info:eu-repo/semantics/preprintinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scielo/preprint/view/317410.1590/SciELOPreprints.3174spahttps://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scielo/article/view/3174/5714Copyright (c) 2021 Humberto Muñoz, Natalia Zuñiga, César Riverahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMuñoz, HumbertoZuñiga, NataliaRivera, Césarreponame:SciELO Preprintsinstname:SciELOinstacron:SCI2021-11-10T01:17:36Zoai:ops.preprints.scielo.org:preprint/3174Servidor de preprintshttps://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scieloONGhttps://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scielo/oaiscielo.submission@scielo.orgopendoar:2021-11-10T01:17:36SciELO Preprints - SciELOfalse
