Resumo: | In Peru, every year the National Scientific Congress (NCC) of medical students is held, an event that receives research papers from all the medical schools in the country. The aim of the study was to determine the publication rate of these papers and its associated factors. A retrospective cohort study was conducted for which the abstract books of the NCC from 2010 to 2014 were reviewed. A total of 407 abstracts were included, of which 97 (23.8%) were published. Papers submitted to NCC that included an advisor were up to twice as likely to be published compared to papers without an advisor (RR: 2.29; CI 50%: 1.16-4.52). In conclusion, a quarter of the papers submitted to the NCC between 2010 to 2014 were published in a scientific journal; likewise, the participation of the advisor significantly increased the probability of publication of the paper. |

SciELO PreprintsSciELO PreprintsSciELO Preprints2021-02-08info:eu-repo/semantics/preprintinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scielo/preprint/view/181510.1590/SciELOPreprints.1815spahttps://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scielo/article/view/1815/2911Copyright (c) 2021 Christian Aquino-Canchari , Karla Guillen-Macedo , Yonatan Gomez-Mamani , J.
