Digital press coverage, elderly person and new technologies during Covid-19

The article analyzes informative coverage about the use of information and communication technologies by elderly public through the analysis of headlines pieces published in digital press. In order to do this a daily monitoring of the news published in internet was carried out with the help of Google alert tool. From January to August in 2020 695 Google alerts were reviewed. It’s quantitative and qualitative methodology explore and document in 87 informative pieces related to 72 digital communication media from different Spanish speaking countries. One of the results is that in most of Latin American countries, media do not diffuse news content about technology utilities for elderly people. Only ten media communication barely registered 2 to 3 informative notes during this period, half of them from Argentina and Chile. Finally, we consider that communication media role is relevant to diffuse informative content to promote inclusion of this age range in just all Latin America countries.
