Resumo: The COVID-19 pandemic is not just a health problem, it is considered a profound shock to our societies and economies, highlighting a crisis in care provision, where health professionals, especially women, are at the center service and response efforts. The present article sought to analyze and problematize care policies, bringing to the scene the right to self-protection of women, health professionals, during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the light of the concept of self-care and biopolitics, in Foucault, the production of care is affirmed as a creator of value, respect for the life of everyone. The care crisis incites a look at the female body immersed in a political field, making it necessary to demystify the glamorization of care as a “thing” for women, a priesthood that includes sacrifices and renunciations, of angels in white, always willing to sacrifice for the other and whose work has no value and recognition. Given this, this article starts from the collective bet of another aesthetic of existence that affirms and operates public policies that aim unconditionally to guarantee the right to life and protection.

Given this, this article starts from the collective bet of another aesthetic of existence that affirms and operates public policies that aim unconditionally to guarantee the right to life and protection.
