MIND MAPS IN THE PRODUCTION OF TEACHING MATERIALS BY BIOLOGY LICENSEES

Resumo: | In all professions, it is necessary to have a plan that helps the professional to reflect on their actions when exercising their activity. In the case of teachers, such planning is as important as the act of teaching a class. A tool that can help in the planning of teaching activities are mind maps (MM), which help professionals develop their ideas in order to create connections between them. The MM can also be used in the planning of alternative teaching materials called thematic units (TU), which are complementary materials that contain a central theme, which can be useful to contextualize the syllabus. Thus, this work aimed to identify and report the use of mental maps by undergraduates as a tool for planning and producing complementary teaching materials, specifically TUs. For this, the MM prepared by undergraduate students of the Biological Sciences - Licentiate of the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL) were analyzed, as well as semi-structured interviews. Data analysis generated a categorization based on the moments of reflection presented by the undergraduates. The results suggest that the MM helped the reflective process of the undergraduates in the construction of the TU. |

En el caso de los docentes, dicha planificación es tan importante como el acto de impartir una clase. Una herramienta que puede ayudar en la planificación de las actividades docentes son los mapas mentales (MM), que ayudan a los profesionales a desarrollar sus ideas para crear conexiones entre ellas. El MM también puede ser utilizado en la planificación de materiales didácticos alternativos denominados unidades temáticas (UT), que son materiales complementarios que contienen un tema central, que pueden ser útiles para contextualizar el programa de estudios. Así, este trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar y relatar el uso de mapas mentales por parte de estudiantes de pregrado como herramienta para la planificación y producción de materiales didácticos complementarios, específicamente UT. Para ello, se analizaron los MM elaborados por estudiantes de pregrado en Ciencias Biológicas - Licenciatura de la Universidad Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL), así como entrevistas semiestructuradas. El análisis de los datos generó una categorización a partir de los momentos de reflexión presentados por los universitarios. Los resultados sugieren que el MM ayudó al proceso reflexivo de los estudiantes de grado en la construcción de la UT.Em todas as profissões, é necessário um planejamento que auxiliar ou refletir sobre suas ações ao exercício de sua atividade profissional. No caso de professores, tal planejamento é tão importante quanto o ato de ministrar uma aula. Uma ferramenta que pode auxiliar no planejamento de atividades docentes são os mapas mentais (MM), que favorece o desenvolvimento de suas ideias de modo de criação de conexões entre elas. Os MM também podem ser utilizados no planejamento de materiais didáticos alternativos denominados unidades temáticas (UT), que contêm uma temática central, podendo ser útil para contextualizar os conteúdos programáticos.Dessa forma, esse trabalho teve como objetivo identificar e relacionar a utilização de mapas mentais, como instrumentos para planejamento e produção de materiais complementares, especificamente como UT. Para isso, foram analisados os MM elaborados por licenciandos do curso de Ciências - Licenciatura da Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL), bem como entrevistas semiestruturadas. A análise dos dados gerou uma categorização baseada nos momentos de reflexão apresentados pelos licenciamentos. Os resultados concluem que os MM auxiliaram o processo reflexivo dos licenciandos na construção das UT.
