The entry of women into spaces predominantly occupied by men has increased in recent decades, including in politics, sciences, and institutions. This movement is a result of social, cultural, and political transformations. In this sense, this article presents the trajectory of women in the military police profession, an iconic space of female absence, based on reflection on the importance of culture in the formation of individuals. At the same time, this study reflects on the inclusion of women in military police forces and their implications in their historical constitutions. Furthermore, it seeks to understand the reproduced and justified inequalities throughout the history of these institutions. Implications, limitations, and future directions are presented and discussed.
