Resumo: Objective: To verify the prevalence and factors associated with the use of sleep-inducing medication among women in primary health care (PHC) in Vitória, ES, Brazil. Methods: Cross-sectional study with adult women conducted in 2014. The association of sleep inducer use with socioeconomic factors and experiences of violence (Poisson regression) was analyzed. Results: Among 991 participants, 18.5% used sleep-inducing medication 4 and 45.9% had used it at some point in their lives. The use, current and in life, of these medications was associated with age, years of education, psychological, physical and sexual violence in the last year (p-value
