Difficulties faced by students in federal institutions of higher education: UFRB in comparative perspective

Resumo: | This study aimed to evaluate the profile, the emotional difficulties / problems faced by the students of the Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) in a perspective compared to the Brazilian and Northeast IFES, as well as the participation in student assistance programs and psychological and psychiatric. Developed from a document analysis of reports related to the V National Survey of Socioeconomic and Cultural Profile of Graduates of Federal Institutions of Higher Education - IFES, carried out by Fonaprace/Andifes in 2018. The results revealed that the student public of IFES , especially from UFRB, presents high economic vulnerability and important difficulties, especially emotional, that interfere with health and academic life. It has been shown that student assistance programs are incipient and require greater investment. The study brings information that calls on the government and the academic community to debate these issues and to propose programs and actions to mitigate such difficulties and promote the formation of citizens and professionals with greater success and quality of life. |

Desarrollado a partir de un análisis documental de informes relacionados con la V Encuesta Nacional de Perfil Socioeconómico y Cultural de Egresados de Instituciones Federales de Educación Superior - IFES, realizada por Fonaprace/Andifes en 2018. Los resultados revelaron que el público estudiantil de IFES, especialmente de La UFRB, presenta alta vulnerabilidad económica e importantes dificultades, especialmente emocionales, que interfieren con la salud y la vida académica. Se ha demostrado que los programas de asistencia a estudiantes son incipientes y requieren de mayor inversión. El estudio trae información que llama al gobierno ya la comunidad académica a debatir estos temas y proponer programas y acciones para mitigar tales dificultades y promover la formación de ciudadanos y profesionales con mayor éxito y calidad de vida.Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o perfil, as dificuldades emocionais / problemas enfrentados pelos estudantes da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) em perspectiva comparada às IFES brasileiras e do Nordeste, bem como a participação em programas de assistência estudantil e cuidados psicológicos e psiquiátricos. Desenvolvido a partir de análise documental de relatórios relacionados à V Pesquisa Nacional de Perfil Socioeconômico e Cultural dos/as Graduandos/as das Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior – IFES, realizada pelo Fonaprace/Andifes em 2018. Os resultados revelaram que o público estudantil das IFES, sobretudo da UFRB, apresenta elevada vulnerabilidade econômica e dificuldades importantes, sobretudo emocionais, que interferem na saúde e na vida acadêmica. Demonstrou-se que os programas de assistência estudantil são incipientes e carecem de maiores investimentos.
