Resumo: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of implant-supported overdentures (IODs) involving computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM) bars. A systematic review and meta-analysis approach were employed to gather and analyze the available evidence. A comprehensive search of relevant literature was performed in esteemed databases, including PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and SciELO. The study adhered strictly to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to ensure transparency and reliability. The systematic review allowed for the identification, screening, and selection of appropriate clinical studies that evaluated the performance of IODs with CAD-CAM designed bars. The meta-analysis facilitated a quantitative synthesis of the selected studies' data to draw statistically robust conclusions. The data collection process involved searching for relevant studies published up until May 2023. The researchers employed a well-defined search strategy with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify studies meeting the eligibility requirements. Studies that provided essential information on the clinical performance of IODs involving CAD-CAM bars were included for further analysis. The selected studies underwent rigorous data analysis, where the researchers assessed the effect sizes to quantify the clinical performance of IODs with CAD-CAM designed bars. Additionally, a two-tailed null test with a 95% confidence interval (CI) was utilized for the meta-analysis.
