Resumo: This dataset is related to the paper: Motherhood: conflicts between the biological and the social dimensions – what does the Brazilian academic production tell? The dataset consists in a table containing data used to construct tables and analyzes of a review of Brazilian Science Teaching and Education literature focused on the theme of motherhood. The analyzed articles were collected on the Capes Periodicals Portal, using the filter "peer-reviewed articles", totaling, after thematic refinement, a set of 23 articles. The methodology for analyzing the documentary corpus was based on content analysis, along the lines of Laurence Bardin (1997;2016). The articles of interest were classified into a system of categories that emerged during the reading process, namely: 1. What is a woman; 2. Breastfeeding; 3. What is a mother? The emergence of the categories after the pre-analysis of the documentary corpus made up of the selected articles was based on elements already identified in the theoretical framework adopted regarding the work of Andrea O'Reilly (2016) on matricentric feminism.
