Typology of nursing care to the onco-hematological patient: a case study

Resumo: The aim of this study isto describe the care performed by the nursing team to the onco-hematological patientshospitalized in the hematology ward of a University Hospital located in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro.The casestudy method was used from February to June 2013. Data were collected through the semi-structured interviewwith 10 members of the nursing team of the hematology unit of the University Hospital of the city of Niterói/RJ,and submitted to thematic analysis. The following category was found: Onco-hematological Patient NursingCare, with its sub-themes: Preventive Care; Clinical Care; Sensitive Care and Educational Care. It concludes thatthe knowledge of this team acquired with assistance practice developed in these professionals a close look, arigorous evaluation and a specialized and qualifi ed assistance. This is because they identify the complexity of theclinical situation and the need for targeted intervention.Keywords: Oncologic Nursing; Nursing Care; Hematology; Neoplasms.

Os dados foram coletadosatravés da entrevista semi-estruturada com 10 membros da equipe de enfermagem da unidade de hematologia doHospital Universitário da cidade de Niterói/RJ, e submetidos à análise temática. Foi encontrada a seguinte categoria:O Cuidado da Equipe de Enfermagem ao Paciente Onco-hematológico, com seus sub-temas:Cuidados de Prevenção;Cuidado Clínico; Cuidado Sensível e Cuidado Educativo.Conclui-se que o conhecimento desta equipe adquirido compráticaassistencial desenvolveu nestes profi ssionais um olhar atento, uma avaliação rigorosa e uma assistênciaespecializada e capacitada.
