Resumo: Introduction: The advent of the Covid-19 pandemic revealed vulnerabilities in the social structure's ability to sustain life and directly impacted the physical and mental health of university students amid social distancing and remote learning. Objective: To analyze the impact on sleep quality and the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in university students during the pandemic. Method: A quantitative observational study with a cross-sectional design involving a sample of 169 students from the University of International Integration of Lusophone Afro-Brazilian (UNILAB). Data collection occurred through an integrated questionnaire divided into three parts: sociodemographic, Maslach Burnout Inventory – Student Survey (MBI-SS), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Results were organized in Microsoft Excel and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, considering prevalence ratios with a 95% confidence interval through the chi-square test. Results: The study found that 94.7% of students are poor sleepers, 53.8% have poor sleep quality, and 40.8% experience sleep disturbances. Regarding Burnout Syndrome, 65.1% of students had high emotional exhaustion, low cynicism, and high professional efficacy. The prevalence of Burnout Syndrome was 19.5% in the sample of students with poor sleep quality, with those with low emotional exhaustion being 7.2 times more likely to be classified as good sleepers than those with high emotional exhaustion. Conclusion: A substantial impact on sleep quality and the conditioning of Burnout traits in students was observed.
