SEXUALITY AND A BODY IMAGE IN ELDERLY: INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Resumo: | Objective: to analyze the relationship between body image and sexuality in the elderly. Method: an integrative review of the date was performed in English, Spanish and Portuguese between 2013 and 2018, in the databases: LILACS, PUBMED, BDENF-NURSING, IBECS, Psychology Index-Scientific and Technical Periodicals, SCOPUS and Web of Science, performing the crossing of the elderly, sexuality and body image. Results: The application of concealment and publication indicators resulted in two qualitative research articles that evidenced a body image that may or may not influence sexuality in the elderly. It is possible to perceive other factors that affect the performance and the sexual desire, being, therefore, something singular that varies from old to old. Conclusion: A study of studies on the area was evidenced, being thus, in a substantial way, having as its main theme the first and best research on body image and factors associated with sexuality in the elderly. Método: foi realizada uma revisão integrativa dos artigos publicados em inglês, espanhol e português entre 2013 à 2018, nas bases de dados: LILACS, PUBMED, BDENF – Enfermagem, IBECS, Index Psicologia - Periódicos técnico-científicos, SCOPUS e Web of Science, realizando o cruzamento dos descritores aged, sexuality and body image. Resultados: Após aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão resultaram dois artigos de pesquisa qualitativa em que evidenciou-se ser a imagem corporal um fator que pode ou não influenciar na sexualidade nas idosas. Percebe-se a existência de outros fatores que comprometem o desempenho e o desejo sexual, sendo, portanto algo singular, que varia para cada idosa. Conclusão: Evidenciou-se a insuficiência de estudos na área, sendo, portanto, de suma importância abordar esse tema, realizando outras pesquisas envolvendo a imagem corporal e os fatores associados na sexualidade em idosas.
