Resumo: | Objective: To map the scientific evidence on the clinical alterations present in children with microcephaly resulting from Zika Virus infection during the gestation period. Method: This is a scope review, where searches were carried out in the Lilacs, PubMed, SciELO and Web of Science databases. Results: A total of 36 articles were selected. The studies presented the clinical alterations that were considered the most common and prevalent in children with microcephaly. The most common deficits among them were in the neurological, respiratory or motor part, depending on the severity, deficits also in the developmental milestones that are considered present in a child without this disease, even reaching signs of greater severity such as seizures. Conclusion: The newborn, as well as the child, with microcephaly needs special attention from a multidisciplinary team, with a view to minimizing the possible damage caused to the neuromuscular and psychomotor systems. |
