Resumo: Objective: To characterize the use of an application for exchange of messages by the Nurses of a General Hospital of Recife-PE. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach performed at a General Hospital of Recife-PE, made up of 21 Nurses. A questionnaire was sent through the Google Docs program with questions about the professional profile and questions related to the use of an application to exchange messages about nursing management. The simple frequency distribution was applied for data analysis. Results: Twenty-one questionnaires completed by the participants were evaluated. The majority of the individuals were female (95.2%), aged 41-45 years (38.1%), had Specialist degree (76.2%), trained for more than 10 years (81% ), 52.4% use the nursing training application, 52.4% for risk management, 47.6% for human resources management in nursing, 47.6% for material resources management in the service and 52.4% % for scientific research in Nursing. Conclusion: Most nurses use the application for communication, management, training planning in the area of ​​Nursing and risk management and patient safety.

Foi enviado um questionário por meio do programa Google Docs com perguntas sobre o perfil do profissional e perguntas relacionadas ao uso de um aplicativo para troca de mensagens sobre o gerenciamento de Enfermagem. Foi aplicada a distribuição de frequência simples para análise dos dados.  Resultados: Foram avaliados 21 questionários preenchidos pelos participantes. A maioria dos indivíduos correspondeu ao sexo feminino (95,2%), com faixa etária entre 41 a 45 anos (38,1%), possui título de Especialista (76,2%), formados há mais de 10 anos (81%), 52,4% utilizam o aplicativo para treinamentos em Enfermagem, 52,4% para gerenciamento de riscos, 47,6% para gestão de recursos humanos em Enfermagem, 47,6% para gestão de recursos materiais no serviço e 52,4% para investigação científica em Enfermagem.
