The informal commerce of medicinal plants at street markets has been increasing lately due to the difficulty of the population's access to medical care and public health agencies shortage of resources. Most traders do not have enough formal knowledge about their products, leaving aside information about its contraindications, interactions with other medicinal products and adverse reactions. The objective of this research was the ethnobotanical study of the medicinal plants commercialized at a Bahia’s countryside city’s main street market. The methodology was based on an exploratory approach, conducted through a field research, where due to observation was possible to catalog 26 families in the program Microsoft office excel 2016, among them 46 species of medicinal plants were found, in different forms of use: dry leaf, roots, bark and seeds.
