Resumo: Objective: to know the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the work of professionals from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) in the state of Paraná. Methods: qualitative exploratory-descriptive study, carried out with 14 workers from the SAMU teams, through semi-structured interviews. Grounded theory was applied. Results: the following categories were identified: (1) behavior of workers in the face of changes related to the covid-19 pandemic: they perceive an increase in care demands, difficulties in the relationship with the service network and an increase in the response time for cleaning ambulances and dressing up workers professionals; (2) Experiencing workers' suffering at work: they feel exposed to the risk of contamination, worrying about protection resources; regarding the effects on mental health, professionals reported: feelings of fear and insecurity regarding their health and that of their family members, as well as the limitations of social distancing. Final considerations and implications for practice: the pandemic had repercussions on the workers' routine, as well as generating new needs regarding contamination precautions and emotional support.

Métodos: estudio exploratorio-descriptivo cualitativo, realizado con 14 trabajadores de los equipos del SAMU, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Se aplicó la teoría fundamentada. Resultados: se identificaron las siguientes categorías: (1) comportamiento de los trabajadores frente a los cambios relacionados con la pandemia de covid-19: perciben aumento en las demandas de atención, dificultades en la relación con la red de servicios y aumento en el tiempo de respuesta para limpieza de ambulancias y vestuario de trabajadores profesionales; (2) Experimentar el sufrimiento de los trabajadores en el trabajo: se sienten expuestos al riesgo de contaminación, preocupándose por los recursos de protección; en cuanto a los efectos en la salud mental, los profesionales relataron: sentimientos de miedo e inseguridad con respecto a su salud y la de sus familiares, así como las limitaciones del distanciamiento social. Consideraciones finales e implicaciones para la práctica: la pandemia repercutió en el cotidiano de los trabajadores, además de generar nuevas necesidades en cuanto a precauciones de contaminación y apoyo emocional.Objetivo: conhecer o impacto da pandemia de COVID-19 no trabalho dos profissionais do Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (SAMU) do estado do Paraná. Métodos: estudo qualitativo do tipo exploratório-descritivo, realizado com 14 trabalhadores das equipes do SAMU, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. Aplicou-se a teoria fundamentada nos dados. Resultados: foram identificadas as categorias: (1) comportamento dos trabalhadores frente as mudanças relacionadas  a pandemia da covid-19: percebem aumento nas demandas assistenciais, dificuldades na relação com a rede de serviços e aumento no tempo resposta pela higienização das ambulâncias e paramentação dos profissionais; (2) Vivenciando o sofrimento laboral dos trabalhadores: sentem-se expostos ao risco de contaminação, preocupando-se com recursos de proteção; quanto aos efeitos sobre a  saúde mental, os profissionais relataram: sentimentos de medo e insegurança quanto à sua saúde e dos familiares, bem como as limitações do distanciamento social.
