Resumo: The aim of this study was to assess women's knowledge of feminine intimate hygiene before and after the application of an educational intervention using a flipchart. An evaluative study with a quasi-experimental design carried out with adult women in a Brazilian state between May and June 2017, in two stages: construction and evaluation of a flipchart; and implementation of educational action for female intimate health. A questionnaire was built and validated through a pilot group to be applied before and after the action. The Mann Whitney tests were performed to compare correct answers, with a significance level of 5%. 86 women participated in the study. Most (68.60%) were between 25 and 59 years old, 43.02% were married and 44.18% said they had studied for more than 12 years. Regarding previous knowledge on the subject, 90.69% of the participants considered the use of jeans/shorts as harmful to intimate health; 37.80% agreed that it is not recommended to take off your panties to sleep; 25.58% did not agree that underwear, after being washed, should be dried in the sun; about disease-causing vaginal douches, 40.69% of the participants did not know how to answer and 32.55% did not agree. There was a statistically significant improvement (p=0.0001) in the participants' knowledge about feminine intimate hygiene after the application of the educational technology. Participants were able to consolidate previous knowledge and acquire new ones during the educational strategy adopted in this study.
