It was identified, as the matic analysis category, the incentive and promotion of b reastfeeding in the nursing consultation to the chi ld. In the ldcare consultations, the approach on the benefits of breastfeeding for the child, the importance of its exclusive maintenance until the s ix months of life, commitment to the ministerial recommendations on breastfeeding and actions to pro mote breastfeeding incentive. Despite the work of nurses to promote and stimulate breastfeeding durin g childcare consultations, it is necessary to refle ct how this approach has been carried out and how far it h as been achieved in practice. breast feeding; nurses; primary health care; child care.
