Resumo: Objective: To assess the knowledge of nursing students before and after training on pressure injury prevention and treatment. Method: Quasi-experimental study with educational intervention with pre- and post-test, carried out with nursing students from a federal university, from May to August 2022. The sample was intentional, with 66 subjects, who were recruited by and -mail. To assess knowledge, an instrument built by the author based on the Caliri-Pieper Knowledge Test was used, which considers adequate knowledge when the percentage of correct answers is greater than 90%. Data collection was online and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and T test for dependent samples and Wilcoxon's non-parametric test. Result: The mean age was 24.8±3.7 years, with a predominance of females (60; 90.9%) and single individuals (60; 90.9%). The average percentage of correct answers before the training was 68.3± 9.8% and the lack of knowledge was 19.3±10.8%. After training, there were 86.1±7.5% (p<0.001) of correct answers and 2.2±4.1% of ignorance (p<0.001). Even with the increase, there was no improvement in the percentage of hits greater than 90%. Conclusion: With the training, there was an increase in the knowledge of the academics, however, this has not yet reached the stipulated parameter of excellence, demonstrating the need to reinforce the training of nurses on the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries.

In Derme; Vol. 97 No. 4 (2023): Out.
