Objective: To verify the impact of the use of bundles to prevent pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation (VAP). Methods: An integrative review of the literature in databases was carried out between February and March of 2019. A total of 33 articles were analyzed, most of which point to a reduction in the rates of VAP, and 18 of these have rates lower than 10 episodes of VAP / 1000 days of mechanical ventilation during the intervention. Results: The bundle suggested by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement has measures that when applied lead to improvements for patients, staff, and health facility. The modification of such a tool by the hospital units, in order to adapt it to their scenario, is also effective. Conclusions: The difficulty of adherence to the measures on the part of the professionals brings the need of studies to try to understand what obstacles present more through the perspective of the team.
