EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR PROMOTING SELF-CARE IN PROSTATE CANCER PATIENTS: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Resumo: | Characterized as the disorderly growth of cells, neoplasms have the ability to invade adjacent tissues or organs that are distant from the origin of the growth, causing bleeding, continuous pain, frequent bruises, fever, cachexia, asthenia, anomalous protuberance, among other symptoms. In this scenario, prostate cancer caused 15,391 deaths in Brazil in 2017 and is the second most common cancer among the male population. For this reason, this study aimed to identify, based on the scientific literature, educational technologies used by nurses to promote self-care in patients with prostate cancer. For that, a bibliographic study was carried out, more specifically an integrative literature review. The search for articles was carried out through the Portal de Periódicos Capes/Ministério da Educação (MEC) in the LILACS, IBECS, BDENF, SciELO, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Scopus and Web of Science databases. In order to streamline the search process, the terms were crossed in English, with the aid of the Boolean operator AND, following the sequence: Nursing AND Educational Technology AND Self Care, Nursing AND Educational Technology AND Prostatic Neoplasms, Nursing AND Self Care AND Prostatic Neoplasms. After analyzing the search results, eight articles were selected as the final sample of this study. It is evident, therefore, that the educational technologies applied by health professionals to patients with prostate cancer have a great reach in their form of presentation, and can be adapted according to the needs and peculiarities of each patient, community, level of service provision offered. |

En ese escenario, el cáncer de próstata causó 15.391 muertes en Brasil en 2017 y es el segundo cáncer más común entre la población masculina. Por eso, este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar, con base en la literatura científica, tecnologías educativas utilizadas por enfermeros para promover el autocuidado en pacientes con cáncer de próstata. Para ello se realizó un estudio bibliográfico, más específicamente una revisión integrativa de la literatura. La búsqueda de artículos se realizó a través del Portal de Periódicos Capes/Ministério da Educação (MEC) en las bases de datos LILACS, IBECS, BDENF, SciELO, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Scopus y Web of Science. Para agilizar el proceso de búsqueda, se cruzaron los términos en inglés, con la ayuda del operador booleano AND, siguiendo la secuencia: Nursing AND Educational Technology AND Self Care, Nursing AND Educational Technology AND Prostatic Neoplasms, Nursing AND Self Care AND Prostatic Neoplasias. Después de analizar los resultados de la búsqueda, se seleccionaron ocho artículos como muestra final de este estudio. Es evidente, por tanto, que las tecnologías educativas aplicadas por los profesionales de la salud a los pacientes con cáncer de próstata tienen un gran alcance en su forma de presentación, pudiendo adaptarse según las necesidades y peculiaridades de cada paciente, comunidad, nivel de prestación del servicio ofrecido.Caracterizadas como o crescimento desordenado de células, as neoplasias possuem a capacidade de invadir tecidos adjacentes ou órgãos que estejam distantes da origem do crescimento, provocando hemorragias, dores contínuas, hematomas frequentes, febre, caquexia, astenia, protuberância anômala, entre outros sintomas. Neste cenário, o câncer de próstata causou 15.391 mortes no Brasil em 2017 e é o segundo câncer mais comum entre a população masculina. Por essa razão, esse estudo objetivou identificar, a partir da literatura científica, tecnologias educacionais utilizadas por enfermeiro/a(s) para promoção do autocuidado de pacientes com câncer de próstata. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo do tipo bibliográfico, mais especificadamente uma revisão integrativa da literatura. A busca de artigos foi realizada através do Portal de Periódicos Capes/Ministério da Educação (MEC) nas bases de dados LILACS, IBECS, BDENF, SciELO, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Scopus e Web of Science. Com vistas a dinamizar o processo de busca, realizou-se o cruzamento dos termos no idioma inglês, com auxílio do operador booleano AND, seguindo a seguinte sequência: Nursing AND Educational Technology AND Self Care, Nursing AND Educational Technology AND Prostatic Neoplasms, Nursing AND Self Care AND Prostatic Neoplasms. Após análise do resultado das buscas, oito artigos foram selecionados como amostra final deste estudo.
