Resumo: The present text seeks to understand the identity formation of the characters in the film O Padre e a Moça, the first feature film directed by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade, when dealing with the issue of "mineiridade". With this, we intend to understand how the identity conflicts of the characters are related to the very crisis of a hegemonic national identity, which also reflects in the institution of the filmmaker's particular cinematographic language. Finally, we outline how poetry and cinema are mobilized by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade to apprehend modernity and the configurations of time itself.

Con ello, pretendemos comprender cómo los conflictos identitarios de los personajes se relacionan con la propia crisis de una identidad nacional hegemónica, que también se refleja en la institución del particular lenguaje cinematográfico del cineasta. Por último, comprenderemos de qué manera la poesía y el cine son movilizados por Joaquim Pedro de Andrade para aprehender la modernidad y las configuraciones del propio tiempo.O presente texto busca perceber a formação da identidade dos personagens do filme O Padre e a Moça, primeiro longa-metragem dirigido por Joaquim Pedro de Andrade, ao tratar da questão da “mineiridade”. Com isso, pretende-se compreender como os conflitos identitários dos personagens estão relacionados com a própria crise de uma identidade hegemônica nacional, que também reflete na instituição da linguagem cinematográfica particular do cineasta.
