Resumo: Analisa o problema do encarceramento em massa no Chile. Aborda as possíveis causas do aumento do número de encarceramentos e demonstra que tal fato está ligado à ideia de populismo punitivo. Apresenta propostas alternativas ao encarceramento em massa, visando a garantia da dignidade da pessoa humana.
