Resumo: Verifica se árbitros têm poderes para proteger a si próprios em arbitragens internacionais. Aborda as fontes e categorias dos poderes concedida aos árbitros, bem como os conceitos estabelecidos no relatório emitido pelo International Law Association (ILA). Busca demonstrar que os árbitros podem recorrer aos seus poderes inerentes em casos específicos para proteger sua função adjudicatória no processo arbitral.
