O mito do 'bom colonizador holandês': o imaginário sobre a colonização holandesa em Pernambuco.

This work seeks to discuss how a certain nostalgia developed in the imaginary collective of the people of Recife in regards to the Dutch occupation as well as the triumphant bellicose events of the restorative army, to the point of multiplying academic, journalistic, and artistic productions about the Flemish presence in Pernambuco throughout the XIX and XX centuries. With the aim of, through this research, investigating in foremost what founded the idea of a golden age of Dutch administration; secondly, discussing how this myth was validated starting with the intense academic production during the XX century; lastly, how the resurgence of this subject takes the imaginary collective of the inhabitants of Recife through journalistic columns and works of art. For this, the study will be based on the methodological assignment of History of Mentalities, from the work “Ideologies and Mentalities” (1991) of the French historian Michael Vovelle (1933-2018). For such objectives, we dedicated the analysis of bibliographical sources, classic and contemporary: newspapers, tridimensional documents, works of art, and others, which establish this restorative and Nassovian praise. From this, the elaboration of this research's product was grounded, composed of a map for the execution of a tourist itinerary through the current neighborhoods of Recife, Santo Antonio and São José, accompanied by a primer with histories about the places constituted as of memory – we base on Pierre Nora (1931-) and his work "Los Lugares de Memoria" (2008 - spanish edition) – of Recife's past in the time of the dutches, of their truths and myths.
