A pesquisa foi dividida em duas etapas: a primeira trata das considerações sobre a infância e o livro infantil, bem como da formação do pequeno leitor por meio da literatura, e a segunda aborda exclusivamente a evolução do conto de fadas, com ênfase no trabalho de Charles Perrault e dos irmãos Jacob e Wilhelm Grimm que recolheram e publicaram as histórias a fim de contribuírem para a perpetuação dos contos que, mesmo depois de sofrerem diversas adaptações, continuam sendo transmitidos de geração em geração. Ao final, percebemos que, na atualidade, o gênero está se reinventado à medida que as pessoas estão percebendo a importância e o significado do conto de fadas, seja para fins terapêuticos, seja para fortalecer os vínculos familiares pela imortal arte de contar histórias.This paper's objective is the study of fairy tail stories from it's origin until it's permanent place in modern world, mainly the relation between story types and children imagination. The research was divided in two ways: the first one deals with the considerations about childhood and infant books, as well as the formation of the young reader through literature; the second approach exclusively the evolution of fairy tail stories, with emphasis in the works of Charles Perrault and the Grimm Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm that gathered and published the stories to contribute with the perpetuation of the tales that, even after suffering many adaptations, continue to be transmitted from generation to generation.
