A hipótese a ser testada é que a abertura comercial brasileira colaborou para a maior inserção internacional do Brasil. Entre as principais conclusões se tem que, de fato, a abertura contribuiu para o aumento da inserção do país no mundo e para o seu desenvolvimento.This study aims to analyze the impacts of the Brazilian trade opening on its economy, in the period of 1988 to 2007, and its relation with the international Brazilian insertion, focusing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the trade balance. The hypothesis tested shows that the Brazilian trade opening helped the international Brazilian insertion.
