A partir deste contexto foi discutido as formas de manifestação da sexualidade do idoso, as principais dificuldades que eles encontram diante da sua sexualidade ou os principais fatores que interferem no relacionamento sexual entre os parceiros idosos e a percepção do idoso com relação à maneira que seus familiares e a sociedade lidam com a expressão sexual na velhice. O estudo foi realizado no Centro de Saúde nº 02 de Ceilândia Norte na qual foram empregados a entrevista semi-estruturada e o grupo focal para a coleta de dados. A técnica adotada para analisar os dados foi a análise de conteúdo, segundo Minayo. Os resultados giraram em torno do ato sexual caracterizado como a principal manifestação da sexualidade entre os idosos. Isto contribuiu também para que todas as dificuldades, vantagens e desvantagens estivessem relacionadas basicamente ao desempenho sexual. Desse modo, percebeu-se a necessidade de maior orientação para estes idosos. Além disso, notou-se que o preconceito ainda está inserido na sociedade e nas famílias, mostrando que a necessidade de orientação é geral, incluindo não só o idoso, mas também o jovem.This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study which has the objective of understand how the sexuality is lived by the elderly people. Using this context, were discussed the elderly sexuality forms of expression, the main difficulties they face in their own sexuality or the main facts which interfere in the sexual relationship among elderly partners and finally the perception of elderly people about how their relatives and the society deal with elderly sexual expression. The study was made in Centro de Saúde nº 02 of Ceilândia Norte, where semi-structured interviews and a focus group were used to collect data. The technique used to analyze the data was the analysis of content, by Minayo. The results were around the sexual, characterized by the elderly as the main sexual expression among them. This also contributed for all difficulties, advantages and disadvantages were related basically to the sexual performance. Thereby, it was possible to realize the real necessity of a better orientation for these people.
