Resumo: | Fenómeno de audiencias en diferentes países, como España y Portugal, Inglaterra, Holanda, Alemania, Italia, Francia, Dinamarca, Suecia, Bélgica, en el ámbito europeo, así como Argentina, Uruguay, México y Brasil, en América Latina, el programa Big Brother (BB) , traspasó fronteras, invadió culturas y entró en la casa de la gente, provocando amor u odio en todos los sitios donde fue emitido. Este fenómeno social empezó en Holanda en 1999 y en finales de 2001, ya alcanzaba 18 países, siendo acompañado por 2 mil millones de personas. Actualmente, el número de paises llegó a 25. Esta ponencia pretende estudiar el fenómeno social en Portugal, España y Latinoamérica, particularmente en Brasil. Con eso, se intenta comprender las razones que llevan a las audiencias a mirar este tipo de programa que es considerado telebasura por los especialistas. |

This social phenomenon has started in the Netherlands in 1999 and by the end of the year 2001 had already been aired in 18 countries, being viewed by 2 million people. Nowadays, Big Brother is well-known in 25 countries.
