Resumo: In this article, we problematize the performance of the “Mito do Vigilante” from the surveillance activities in the pandemic carried out in the posts of federal deputy Alexandre Frota on Instagram, reflecting on his performance strategies that affiliate him to the narrative of Vigilantism. As a result, we identified its association with a conservative ideological context - a human and cultural production that is “naturalized” by the “Myth of the Vigilante”, giving it credibility and authenticity.
