Resumo: The aim of this study was to verify the cardiovascular responses of elderly hypertensive patients submitted to different models of exercise sessions and the post-exercise hypotension phenomenon. Eighteen hypertensive elderly women, 69.4 ?? 6.9 years, 62.8 ?? 6.7 kg body weight, 125 ?? 14.1 mm Hg of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and 76 ?? 10 mm Hg of diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were submitted to five sessions: i) isometric handgrip (IHG); ii) isometric leg press (ILP); iii) treadmill (EST); iv) MIS of the sessions (MIS); v) control (CTL) without exercise. The isometric exercise sessions, IHG and ILP, were performed at 50% of the maximum voluntary isometric contraction (CVIM), 12 series of 1 'of contraction and 2' of pause between the series. The EST session was performed at 70% of the maximum heart rate, 12 series of 1 'walk and 2' pause. The MIS session consisted of 4 sets of each session (IHG + ILP + EST) with 1 'of exercise and 2' of interval between sets, totaling 12 minutes of exercise. A hydraulic handgrip dynamometer (Jamar, Sammons Preston, Illinois, USA), a load cell load (DinPro, CEFISE, Campinas, SP) was used to determine the CVIM at the IHG and ILP, respectively. Blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) were measured using the oscillometric method on the Microlife?? device, model BP 3AC1-1 (Switzerland) at rest and in recovery at 30 and 60 min post-exercise. The double product (DP) was calculated using the product FC x systolic PA (SBP). Pulse pressure (PP) was determined by SBP - diastolic BP (DBP). There was a reduction in HR in relation to rest (p <0.05) in all sessions at 30 and 60 min post-exercise. SBP increased at 30 and 60 minutes post-exercise in the MIS session (p <0.05). DBP increased at 60 min post-exercise in the IHG and MIS sessions. DP was lower at 30 and 60 min. post-exercise in the control session. There was no difference for the other variables (p> 0.05). The study demonstrated that in all IHG, ILP, EST and MIS exercise sessions, they induced a significant drop in HR and post-exercise PD in hypertensive elderly women. However, post-exercise we observe significant increases in SBP in the MIS session, and DBP in the IHG session.

No entanto, p??s-exerc??cio observarmos aumentos significativos da PAS na sess??o MIS, e da PAD na sess??o de IHG.Submitted by Sara Ribeiro (sara.ribeiro@ucb.br) on 2020-05-09T02:45:39Z No. of bitstreams: 1 WashingtonLuizMarianodaSilvaDissertacao2020.pdf: 2237444 bytes, checksum: 78cb64a843f4664c7006ad3247c7938b (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Sara Ribeiro (sara.ribeiro@ucb.br) on 2020-05-09T02:46:10Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 WashingtonLuizMarianodaSilvaDissertacao2020.pdf: 2237444 bytes, checksum: 78cb64a843f4664c7006ad3247c7938b (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2020-05-09T02:46:11Z (GMT).
