Resumo: | High-capacity corporate data backup is a data backup of an organization for long period of time. This work sought to contribute to the governance and corporate management of information technology regarding compliance with legal requirements and good practices in high retention backups, with particular interest in Brazilian APF institutions. Emphasis was given to the construction of a systemic view for high data retention and the search for processes and practices that contribute to the creation of a long retention backup architecture for Brazilian APF. Resolution 14 of October 24, 2001 - CONARQ establishes deadlines for information guards. And in certain information with custody over 90 years in Public Administration in Brazil (CONARQ, 2001). By implication, it was understood, therefore, that the accomplishment of corporate data backup for long periods in the APF is a matter of compliance. The problem was how to securely perform and securely back up corporate data for long periods, since the world has not yet coped with electronic data backup with such high retention. The research was divided in two phases: In the first phase a model was created that collaborated to construct a systemic vision for the high data retention and that allowed to verticalize the search of processes and practices as subsidies that contributed to the creation of a long-term backup architecture for Brazilian APF. This systemic view took into account several dimensions of the backup problem: 6 (six) dimensions were proposed, with 1 (one) associated to Governance: Strategy Dimension and 05 (five) associated to Management: Risk Dimension, Organizational Dimension, Financial / contractual dimension and people size. In the second phase of the model was constituted a matrix consisting of processes and practices, which collaborated as subsidies for the construction of a database to support retention, literature and field research. The system was created based on the concepts of corporate architecture, presents a logical structure for thinking and managing, is not mandatory, but can be implemented in all processes of governance and management of tasks as key areas that have the capacity to respond to backup.
