Cultural heritage as a collective identity: the know-how of the sweet pé de moleque (peanut brittle) in Piranguinho, MG

Resumo: The proposed reflection is on the process of forming collective identity from the know-how of the sweet pé de moleque (peanut brittle), cultural heritage of the municipality of Piranguinho, in the microregion of Itajubá, south of the State of Minas Gerais. In the cultural aspect, the municipality is characterized by counting on the production and sale of the sweet pé de moleque, and the meanings are constituted around the artifact, which influences the mentality, identity organization, and development path choices. From this perspective, we justify our participation in the debate on regional-local development, considering the strategies adopted in small municipalities. Therefore, we aim to understand the knowledge and practice of the sweet pé de moleque as an element of contribution to development, without losing sight of the history and compositions that support the idea of ​​place. We used the resources of the field research, through semi-structured interviews, which we carried out from September to December 2019. The results achieved show that culture and identity in the dynamics of the place are also expressed through the construction of the pé de moleque as cultural heritage, forming the collective identity and getting involved with the issues of the development of the microregion of Itajubá.

En el aspecto cultural, el municipio se caracteriza por contar con la producción y venta de dulce pé de moleque, y los significados se constituyen en torno al artefacto, que influyen en la mentalidad, organización identitaria y opciones de caminos de desarrollo. Desde esta perspectiva, justificamos nuestra participación en el debate sobre el desarrollo regional-local, considerando las estrategias adoptadas en los pequeños municipios. Por ello, buscamos entender el conocimiento y la práctica del dulce pé de moleque como un elemento de aporte al desarrollo, sin perder de vista la historia y las composiciones que sustentan la idea de lugar. Utilizamos los recursos de la investigación de campo, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas, que realizamos de septiembre a diciembre de 2019. Los resultados alcanzados muestran que la cultura y la identidad en la dinámica del lugar también se expresan a través de la construcción del pé de moleque como patrimonio cultural, formando la identidad colectiva y se involucrando con los temas del desarrollo de la microrregión de Itajubá.A reflexão proposta é sobre o processo de formação da identidade coletiva a partir do saber-fazer do doce pé de moleque, patrimônio cultural do município de Piranguinho, na microrregião de Itajubá, sul do Estado de Minas Gerais. No aspecto cultural, o município se caracteriza por contar com a produção e venda do doce pé de moleque, sendo que as significações se apresentam constituídas em torno do artefato, as quais influenciam na mentalidade, organização da identidade e nas escolhas de caminhos de desenvolvimento. Dessa perspectiva, justificamos nossa participação no debate sobre desenvolvimento regional-local, considerando as estratégias adotadas em municípios de pequeno porte. Portanto, objetivamos compreender o saber e o fazer do pé de moleque enquanto um elemento de contribuição ao desenvolvimento, sem perder de horizonte a história e as composições que suportam a ideia de local. Utilizamos os recursos da pesquisa de campo, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, as quais realizamos no período de setembro a dezembro de 2019.
