Modelization of agroecosystems as a communication tool in mountain environments in Brazil and Argentina

Resumo: The present article assesses modeling methodology, as a communicative tool to systematically work on the perception of family farmers about the ecological and productive potentialities and weaknesses of their agroecosystems, based on the analysis of production systems with an agroecological and conventional basis developed in mountain environments. It starts with a general characterization of the local environmental and productive context, and then, based on a participatory survey with farming families, establish the modeling of four agroecosystems, with two in Brazil and two in Argentina. Modeling made it possible to analyze the socio-productive context of farming families in montane environments in both countries, from the economic and ecological flows in their agroecosystems, identifying opportunities and restrictions, in their production units, for the insertion of agroecological practices associated with strategies of economic reproduction, historically constructed in the local sociocultural context, having as a base the analysis of the relationship between the determining variables for the adopted strategical decisions. The agroecosystems analysis methodology represents an important instrument for dialogues, researches, and actions for the sustainable rural development of mountain regions, and contributes with subsidies for public policies, as well as the elaboration and implementation of social and environmental projects with a focus on family farming and agroecology.

Se parte de una caracterización general del contexto ambiental y productivo local, para luego, a partir de una encuesta participativa con familias campesinas, establecer la modelización de cuatro agroecosistemas, dos en Brasil y dos em Argentina. La modelización permitió analizar el contexto socioproductivo de las familias campesinas en ambientes montañosos en ambos países, a partir de los flujos económicos y ecológicos en sus agroecosistemas, identificando oportunidades y restricciones, en sus unidades de producción para la inserción de prácticas agroecológicas asociadas a estrategias de reproducción económica, históricamente construido en el contexto sociocultural local, a partir de un análisis de las relaciones entre las variables determinantes de las decisiones estratégicas adoptadas. La metodología de análisis de agroecosistemas representa una importante herramienta de diálogo, investigación y acciones para el desarrollo rural sostenible de las regiones montañosas, y contribuye con subsidios para políticas públicas, así como para la elaboración e implementación de proyectos socioambientales enfocados en agroecología y agricultura familiar.O presente artigo avalia metodologia de modelização como instrumento comunicativo para trabalhar de forma sistêmica a percepção de agricultores familiares sobre as potencialidades e fragilidades, ecológica e produtiva, de seus agroecossistemas, fundamentado na análise de sistemas de produção de base agroecológica e convencional desenvolvidos em ambientes de montanha. Parte-se de caracterização geral do contexto ambiental e produtivo local para, em seguida, com base em levantamento participativo com famílias agricultoras, estabelecer a modelização de quatro agroecossistemas, sendo dois no Brasil e dois na Argentina. A modelização possibilitou analisar o contexto socioprodutivo das famílias agricultoras em ambientes montanos nos dois países, a partir dos fluxos econômicos e ecológicos em seus agroecossistemas, identificando oportunidades e restrições, em suas unidades de produção, para a inserção de práticas agroecológicas associadas às estratégias de reprodução econômica, construídas historicamente no contexto sociocultural local, tendo por base análise das relações entre as variáveis determinantes para as decisões estratégicas adotadas.
