Resumo: The aim of this thesis is to inquire about drama as a method for the teaching theater and its articulation with the transversal themes, using theoretical studies and my experience as a theater teacher. I will draw on the notion of experience discussed by Jorge Larrosa and the debate about the reproduction suggested by Pierre Bourdieu in order to reflect about the education process, the teaching practice and the transversality of theater teaching in a practical form. I present an overview of theater education in Brazil and the insertion of transversal themes, according to the National Curriculum Parameters (PCNs), in the curriculum based on the arts, especially that one about theater. Though a review of history line - also known as process drama and drama in education in England, I analize my practice in action-research developed with student teachers or experienced teachers in elementary education from a series of episodes that were composed through the play The deceased, by Nelson Rodrigues, as a pre-reading. The collected and analysed data allowed a deep look at the articulation of this anglo-saxon approach with the transversality proposed for the Brazilian curriculum. Concepts such as experience, learning and reproduction permeate all the substantiation and analysis of the research, as well as those concepts that belong to drama as a teaching approach.

A noção de experiência discutida por Jorge Larrosa e o debate sobre reprodução proposto por Pierre Bourdieu serão caminhos para refletir sobre o processo educativo, a prática docente e a transversalidade no ensino de teatro de forma concreta. Primeiramente apresentarei um panorama do teatro-educação no Brasil e da inserção dos temas transversais, pelos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCNs), no currículo escolar com base nos conteúdos da Arte, especialmente os de Teatro. Através de um traçado histórico e significativo do drama - também conhecido na Inglaterra por process drama e drama in education, analiso minha prática em pesquisa-ação desenvolvida com professores em formação ou já atuantes na educação básica a partir de uma série de episódios concebida por meio da peça A falecida, de Nelson Rodrigues, como pré-texto. Os dados coletados e analisados permitiram um olhar mais aprofundado a respeito da articulação desse método de ensino anglo-saxônico com a transversalidade proposta para o currículo brasileiro.
