Interação Universidade Empresa: um estudo do ecossistema da microrregião de Campo Mourão

Resumo: From a systemic perspective, University-Enterprise Cooperation (U-E) has been a great challenge, where the speed of changes in corporate and academic environments are necessary and require significant changes so that innovations in companies gain speed. Thus, this study aimed to analyze how companies in the Microregion of Campo Mourão assimilate and promote U-E cooperation considering innovation and technology sharing. We sought to investigate which actions in the companies' view facilitate the U-E interaction; an identity which are the determining factors that influence the interactions of business organizations with universities, and analyze the main barriers faced by companies regarding U-E cooperation. The methodology adopted was the qualitative approach and the nature of the descriptive study, we applied the strategy of multiple case studies and data collection through interviews with a semi-structured script, fourteen participants were interviewed, twelve companies, three that developed projects of cooperation with the university and nine companies without any cooperation link, the Manager of the Technological Innovation Center of a Federal HEI and representatives of the Economic Development Council of the region. It should be noted that it was considered important to bring the perspective of companies without cooperation to the study, considering that they can contribute to understanding which aspects are obstacles or barriers to U-E cooperation. As a result of the analyses, it was observed that the interaction relationships between the participants are still quite shy and that the work arising from the HEI is still incipient, and there is a path of great challenges to follow, especially in terms of culture regarding interaction (within the university). Regarding the motivators, these positively influenced the interaction, given the aspects presented by the participants. As for the barriers and facilitators of the U-E interaction, it was found that they negatively influenced the U-E cooperation process, emphasizing aspects that discouraged the process. As for the theoretical model proposed in this study, it allowed us to realize that the U-E relationship occurs, but is limited. It was concluded that the companies in the Campo Mourão’s microregion, assimilate that U-E cooperation can transform the region's innovation ecosystem, but they do not promote it due to the lack of incentive and approximation between the participants. In terms of theoretical contributions, this study aimed to generate an understanding of the EU interaction process, based on theoretical models existing in the literature, and as practical contributions, this research presents empirical findings that can contribute to the actors involved in recognizing the dynamics of the process and the innovative potential of the researched region. As a practical contribution, the results will be compiled into an executive summary and presented to research participants and other interested parties, to bring together the participants and minimize the asymmetry of information about the possibilities of U-E cooperation.

Así, este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar cómo las empresas de la Microrregión de Campo Mourão asimilan y promueven la cooperación U-E considerando la innovación y el intercambio de tecnología. Se ha buscado investigar qué acciones, según las empresas investigadas, facilitan la interacción U-E; identificar los factores determinantes que influyen en las interacciones entre las empresas y universidades; y analizar las principales barreras que enfrentan las empresas con respecto a la cooperación U-E. La metodología adoptada fue con enfoque cualitativo y el carácter de estudio descriptivo, se aplicó la estrategia de múltiples estudios de caso y recopilación de datos a través de entrevistas con cuestionario semiestructurado, se entrevistaron catorce actores, doce empresas, tres que desarrollaron proyectos de cooperación con la universidad y nueve empresas sin ningún vínculo de cooperación, él Gestor del Centro de Innovación Tecnológica de una IES Federal y el Consejo de Desarrollo Económico de la región. Cabe señalar, que se consideró importante acercar al estudio la perspectiva de las empresas sin cooperación, considerando que pueden contribuir a comprender qué aspectos son obstáculos o barreras a la cooperación U-E. Como resultado de los análisis, se observó que las relaciones de interacción entre los actores aún son bastante tímidas, y que el desempeño derivado de la IES es aún incipiente, y hay un camino de grandes desafíos a seguir, especialmente en relación a cultura (dentro de la universidad). En cuanto a los motivadores y beneficios, estos influyeron positivamente en la interacción, dados los aspectos presentados por los actores. En cuanto a las barreras y facilitadores de la interacción U-E, influyeron negativamente en el proceso de cooperación U-E, enfatizando aspectos que desalentaron el proceso. En cuanto al modelo teórico propuesto en este estudio, nos permitió percibir que la relación U-E ocurre, pero de forma limitada. Se concluyó que las empresas de la microrregión Campo Mourão, asimilan que la cooperación U-E puede transformar el ecosistema de innovación de la región, pero no lo promueven por la falta de incentivo y aproximación entre los actores. En términos de aportes teóricos, este estudio tuvo como objetivo generar una comprensión del proceso de interacción U-E, a partir de modelos teóricos existentes en la literatura, y como aportes prácticos, esta investigación presenta hallazgos empíricos que pueden contribuir con los actores involucrados en el reconocimiento de la dinámica de proceso y el potencial innovador de la región investigada.A partir de uma perspectiva sistêmica a Cooperação Universidade-Empresa (U-E) vem sendo um grande desafio, onde a velocidade das mudanças nos ambientes corporativos e acadêmicos são necessários e exigem mudanças significativas para que as inovações nas empresas ganhem velocidade. Assim, este estudo teve como objetivo analisar como as empresas da Microrregião de Campo Mourão assimilam e promovem a cooperação U-E considerando a inovação e o compartilhamento de tecnologia. Buscou-se investigar quais ações na visão das empresas facilitam a interação U-E; identificar quais são os fatores determinantes que influenciam as interações das organizações empresariais com as universidades; e analisar as principais barreiras, enfrentadas pelas empresas quanto à cooperação U-E. A metodologia adotada foi a abordagem qualitativa e a natureza do estudo descritiva, aplicou-se a estratégia de estudos de casos múltiplos e a coleta de dados por meio de entrevistas com roteiro semiestruturado, foram entrevistados quatorze atores, sendo doze empresas, três que desenvolveram projetos de cooperação com a universidade e nove empresas sem nenhum vínculo de cooperação, um Gestor do Núcleo de Inovação Tecnológica de uma IES Federal e representantes do Conselho de Desenvolvimento Econômico da região. Cabe salientar que, julgou-se importante trazer a perspectiva das empresas sem cooperação para o estudo tendo em vista que estas podem contribuir para compreender quais aspectos são obstáculos ou barreiras para a cooperação U-E. Como resultados das análises realizadas, observou-se que as relações de interação entre os atores ainda são bastante tímidas, e que a atuação advinda pela IES ainda é incipiente, e há um caminho de grandes desafios a trilhar, principalmente à cultura quanto à interação (dentro da universidade). Com relação aos motivadores, estes influenciaram a interação positivamente, dado aos aspectos apresentados pelos atores. Quanto as barreiras e facilitadores da interação U E, constatou-se que influenciaram o processo de cooperação U-E de forma negativa, dando ênfase a aspectos que desestimularam o processo. Quanto ao modelo teórico proposto neste estudo, este permitiu perceber que a relação U-E ocorre, mas de forma limitada. Concluiu-se que as empresas da microrregião de Campo Mourão, assimilam que a cooperação U-E pode transformar o ecossistema de inovação da região, mas não a promovem pela falta de incentivo e aproximação entre os atores. The methodology adopted was the qualitative approach and the nature of the descriptive study, we applied the strategy of multiple case studies and data collection through interviews with a semi-structured script, fourteen participants were interviewed, twelve companies, three that developed projects of cooperation with the university and nine companies without any cooperation link, the Manager of the Technological Innovation Center of a Federal HEI and representatives of the Economic Development Council of the region. It should be noted that it was considered important to bring the perspective of companies without cooperation to the study, considering that they can contribute to understanding which aspects are obstacles or barriers to U-E cooperation. As a result of the analyses, it was observed that the interaction relationships between the participants are still quite shy and that the work arising from the HEI is still incipient, and there is a path of great challenges to follow, especially in terms of culture regarding interaction (within the university). Regarding the motivators, these positively influenced the interaction, given the aspects presented by the participants. As for the barriers and facilitators of the U-E interaction, it was found that they negatively influenced the U-E cooperation process, emphasizing aspects that discouraged the process. As for the theoretical model proposed in this study, it allowed us to realize that the U-E relationship occurs, but is limited. It was concluded that the companies in the Campo Mourão’s microregion, assimilate that U-E cooperation can transform the region's innovation ecosystem, but they do not promote it due to the lack of incentive and approximation between the participants. In terms of theoretical contributions, this study aimed to generate an understanding of the EU interaction process, based on theoretical models existing in the literature, and as practical contributions, this research presents empirical findings that can contribute to the actors involved in recognizing the dynamics of the process and the innovative potential of the researched region. As a practical contribution, the results will be compiled into an executive summary and presented to research participants and other interested parties, to bring together the participants and minimize the asymmetry of information about the possibilities of U-E cooperation.
