Studies on bilingualism, especially those involving communities and cultural aspects, bring social advances such as the participation of diversity, learning, among other aspects that should be considered, and are therefore relevant to the study of Ukrainian bilingualism and the development of interdisciplinary-looking business. phenomenon. In this regard, a reflection may be held on how to demonstrate an idea of which countries influence language choice and the need to belong to a national identity and thus a cultural heritage from one generation to the next. From the points elucidated, this research aims to study bilingualism, as well as the intergenerational transmission of the Ukrainian language between bilingual Portuguese / Ukrainian speakers, focusing on points such as stimuli and classifications, as well as the challenges of bilingualism and its maintenance. A research was carried out in the district of Itapará, located in the municipality of Irati, Paraná State. The district of Itapará was defined as having 253.06 km2 and comprising several other locations besides Itapará. The research methodology used in this work is based on a quantitative approach. A sample of the survey consisted of 60 individuals of Ukrainian descent and resident in the Itapará district. To collect data, we used questionnaires to measure language interest and language efficiency. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The general mode of research brings contributions to studies in development and research to understand the intergenerational transmission of the Ukrainian language among English / Ukrainian speakers, considering that the stimuli and prohibitions were evidenced, as well as the results found in bilingualism and how used in maintaining bilingualism among the different examples. New research in the area may support the development of strategies and possibilities for linguistic maintenance not only Ukrainian, but in other languages. Develop what Brazil has selected a richness in relation to cultures, languages and traditions of immigrant peoples.
