This study entitled the documentaries in imaginary constitution of subjects and identifications focuses documentaries in its discursive function . The analytical corpus consists of four documentaries aired by RPC / TV (Paranaense Communications Network) , affiliated to Brazil South Television Network ( RBS ) on four consecutive Saturdays in the month of August 2011, in the program My Paraná , focusing the participation of Brazilians soldiers in World War II , in 1944 , in northern Italy , highlighting Paraná soldiers, members of the FEB ( Brazilian Expeditionary Force ). The research question that gives unity and coherence to the research and we seek to answer is: How it is constituted from these four documentaries, imageries of heroism, courage and solidarity around the Paraná soldiers, who participated in the World War II? The theoretical grounding comes from Discourse Analysis, founded by Michel Pecheux, from the 60s and constructive as a disciplinary field from projects developed by Eni Orlandi , at UNICAMP. The main objective is to address the discursive function of documentaries in the constitution / establishment of imaginary heroism, bravery and solidarity around these soldiers. This will encompass the following specific objectives: 1) checking how, from the documentaries, around the Paraná soldiers, the historical event arising from the Second World War and the entering of Brazil in the War, supports and structure the constitution of subjects and identifications between Brazilians and Italians; 2) highlighting the memory operation in rememoration / commemoration of Brazilians as heroes by discourse of (memory ), anchoring / updating the discourse about (present); 3)thinking these documentaries as a place of memory and its discursive function, highlighting the work of language in history, and its relationship to ideology. To realize these goals we seek the way of structuring these materialities, focusing on discourse (material place of ideology), the documentaries and operation of the subject, as the organizer of the text, while author-subject, the identifications that are among Brazilian / Paraná soldiers and Italian subjects; the media (circulation space of documentaries); the social, imaginaries and discursives formations. We focus: the urban space, the history and memory, and their differences, embracing the notions surrounding the discourse of (rememoration) how what is repeated in this discourse, by paraphrastic processes and the discourse about (commemoration), that breaks the repetition and introduces the new, by the polysemic processes, which required addressing to the documentary as a place of memory; and the first clipping around the functioning of cities in the constitution of truth and objectivity effects, around the discourses conveyed on the documentaries analyzed. In the third chapter we clipped discursive sequences (SD) from two approaches that contribute to the soldiers positive imaginary and their participation in the Second War conflict: the testimonies materialized in the form of attestation, as way of textuality organization, regulated by the subject-author; the constitutive silences and erasures of these materialities, naturalizing Brazil`s entry to the conflict, which maximize the importance of Brazilian participation in the war and erases Brazil`s internal problems in this period.
