A survey of spiders was accomplished in the field area of Municipal Park of Araucaria, Guarapuava, Paraná, Brazil. The samples were taken between July 2010 and July 2011 using pitfall traps, entomological umbrella and nocturnal manual collection. Were obtained 3895 spiders, which young 3,149 (80.8%) and mature 746 (19.1%). These were assigned to 109 morphospecies belonging to 26 families. Thomisidae (n = 174), Salticidae (n = 169), Araneidae (n = 106) and Theridiidae (n = 104) accounted for 74.1% of the total species. Theridiidae was richer (S = 23) followed by Araneidae (S = 19), Salticidae (S = 15) and Thomisidae (8). Dendryphantinae sp.1 and Deltoclita sp.1 were the most abundant morphospecies. despite the large sampling effort (sampling efficiency: 82%), none of the species accumulation curves reached the asymptote and the number of infrequent and rare species (singletons, doubletons, uniques and duplicates) remained stable, suggesting that the inventory is still incomplete and number of species observed is below the real wealth. In order to analyze seasonality, sampling sessions were grouped by season climate (hot: spring and summer; cold: autumn and winter). In the warm season were recorded the highest abundance of adults and greater wealth. Although the species accumulation curve indicates that inventory is still incomplete and the number of species recorded was relatively high when compared with surveys of other authors, demonstrating the importance of this ecosystem in biodiversity conservation.
