The number of the families which produce tobacco in the south area of our country has significantly increased during the recent years triggering a grip related to the natural resources, mainly related to the erosion. In this context, this research is going to assess how the tobacco culture, especially in areas with steep slopes, together with how to use and the management developed by the farmers has contributed to this process. To perform the monitoring, we picked up a shed within an area of 1.08 ha, which is subjected to the conventional system of the tobacco plantation. 12 water and sediments collectors (Gerlach tracks) were installed, in two distinct periods, one in the off season and another one during the season in order to analyze the periods in which the process of loss of water from soil is greater. During the off-season were monitored 32 pluviometric events in which only 09 produced water and soil loss. Those events together generated an average loss of 110L/m² of the water loss, and 1,407g/m² of soil loss, results of three months from the five months of this period. The values that were found in the harvest differ from those found during the previous period, were 37 pluviometrics events were monitored, of which 24 loed to the water and soil loss, which showed an average of 69 L/m² of water loss and 7,443 g/m² of soil loss.
