Resumo: This dissertation has as main objective to understand thevarious feminine representations in u mbandist religiosity,with a look towards a history of women, from the rolesexercised by moth ers of Saint and Cambonas, in twotemples in the region Southwest of Paraná, the tent of hopel ocated in the municipality of Pato Branco and the Spiritisttent of Umbanda São Jorge, in the c ity of Clevelândia. It wasintended to investigate the importance of these women inthe lives of the people of saint from the memory and thereports of the interviewees. The dissertation also aims tocontribute to the writing of a history of Umbanda in Paraná,especially in the southwest region of the State, reflecting onmigration processes of the oldest initiates of the Tenda SãoJo rge, observing the history of Surveyed Terreiros, theirrituals and characteristics that constitute it as a umbandistreligiosity, and at the same time, with the watchful eye thespecificities of ea ch of them. The purpose is also to presentthe trajectory of Umbanda in Brazil, its processes of growthand legitimation. To this end, it was worth the ethnographicresearch and semistructure d interviews, with newemulsions and four men who were interviewed in bothTerreiros survey ed, based on the methodology of oralhistory. Destarte, it was possible to understand the influe ncethat women possess in Umbanda and in the lives of thoseinitiated in their families of saint. The field researchevidenced processes of umbandist religiosity characterizingthe temples sur veyed as emancipated, thus not beingplausible of generalization, the feeling of responsibility a ndgratitude that the interviewees carry With you for exercisingleadership positions within the ritualistic of the Terreiro. Pretendeu-se investigar a importância destas mulheres na vida do povo de santo a partir da memória e dos relatos dos entrevistados. A dissertação também tem como intuito contribuir para a escrita de uma História da Umbanda no Paraná, em especial na região sudoeste do estado, refletindo acerca de processos de migração dos iniciados mais antigos da Tenda São Jorge, observando a História dos terreiros pesquisados, seus rituais e características que o constituem como uma religiosidade umbandista, e ao mesmo tempo, com o olhar atento as especificidades de cada um deles. A finalidade também é apresentar a trajetória da Umbanda no Brasil, seus processos de crescimento e legitimação. Para tanto valeu-se da pesquisa etnográfica e de entrevistas semi-estruturadas, com nove mulheres e quatro homens iniciados em ambos os terreiros pesquisados, a partir da metodologia da história oral. Destarte, foi possível compreender a influência que as mulheres possuem na Umbanda e na vida dos iniciados em respectivas famílias de santo. A pesquisa de campo evidenciou processos da religiosidade umbandista caracterizando os templos pesquisados enquanto emancipados, desse modo não sendo plausível de generalização, também o sentimento de responsabilidade e gratidão que as entrevistadas carregam consigo por exercerem cargos de liderança dentro da ritualística do terreiro. Ficou evidente durante toda a pesquisa, a gratulação que os iniciados possuem em relação à religião que escolheram fazer parte, demonstrando sentimentos de gratidão e conexão com os Orixás e guias espirituais da religião.
