Social Work in the Taquari Valley: its skills and professional foundations

Resumo: The article presents a synthesis of quantitative and qualitative analysis on the materialization of professional competences in the work of the social worker in the region of Vale do Taquari-RS, apprehending the regional particularities, the working conditions and relations and the theoretical-methodological and ethical- politicians who enlighten them. The study was carried out from a loco-regional sample of the census research “Profile, Training and Work of social workers in the state of Rio Grande do Sul” within the scope of the Regional Council of Social Service – CRESS 10th Region. There is a contradiction between the discourse of adherence to Marxism and its concrete expression in professional work, in the development of professional competences, expressing itself in the attributions to a professional object, eclectic theoretical-methodological conceptions with a centrality in its technical-operative dimension. The research findings indicate the importance of new studies on the teaching of fundamentals, with emphasis on the mediation of the dialectical-critical method in the exercise of professional skills.

O estudo foi realizado a partir de amostra loco-regional da pesquisa censitária “Perfil, Formação e Trabalho do(a)s assistentes sociais no estado do Rio Grande do Sul” no âmbito do Conselho Regional de Serviço Social – CRESS 10ª Região. Verifica-se uma contradição entre o discurso de adesão ao marxismo e a sua expressão concreta no trabalho profissional, no desenvolvimento das competências profissionais, expressando-se nas atribuições a objeto profissional, concepções teórico-metodológicas ecléticas com centralidade na sua dimensão técnico-operativa.
