Voluntary giving up for adoption: demand profile and perspective of professionals

Resumo: The objective was to reflect about the voluntary giving up for adoption, based on the analysis of the profile of women served in the period 2018-2019andthe perspective of professionals about the service provided. This is a descriptive-exploratory research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Data regarding the profile of women were collected in psychosocial reports. A semi-structured interview was also conducted with four professionals, whose content was processed by the software IRaMuTeQ for content analysis. 4 analytical classes emerged: 1) Motivation, 2) Challenges, 3) Difficulties and 4) Receive. The profile was discussed based on the following categories: age, socioeconomic status, education, reason for giving up and outcome of care. It is essential to expand the dissemination of voluntary giving up Programs/Projects and the work carried out, in order to deconstruct the social role of women in relation to motherhood and to strengthen measures to protect children delivered for adoption.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritivo-exploratória, com abordagem quanti-qualitativa. Os dados referentes ao perfil das mulheres foram coletados em relatórios psicossociais. Realizou-se também entrevista semiestruturada com quatro profissionais, cujo conteúdo foi processado pelo software IRaMuTeQ para análise de conteúdo. Emergiram 4 Classes analíticas: 1) Motivação, 2) Desafios, 3) Dificuldades e 4) Acolher. O perfil foi discutido com base nas seguintes categorias: idade, status socioeconômico, escolaridade, motivo da entrega e desfecho do atendimento.
