Resumo: The present article aims to analyze Haitian migration, as one of the expressions of the social issue, being associated with the deep and unequal economic relationship established in Haiti since its independence in 1804. It is bibliographical research associated with the discussions on Haitian migration held by Haitian researchers in the postgraduate course (masters and doctoral) in Social Work in Brazil between 2018-2022. The research showed that the Haitian State plays an important role in sustaining the emigration phenomenon in Haiti, structuring public agencies to support, attend to and monitor this process, as well as to respond to the interests of international capital through its relationship between central and peripheral countries in contexts of economic development.
