Content analysis about the ecological niche concept: what the textbooks say?

Resumo: Textbooks are an interesting and relevant source of research for which to discuss issues related to learning and even evaluate the quality of education in a given discipline starting from its use. In this sense, the analysis of textbooks as a source of research in education contributes to a view to (re) think beyond the didactic dimension of its textual structure while allowing a conceptual verification. In being the concepts essentials for understanding a science and its assumptions - and assuming that according to the writing and structuring the thought of authors such concepts may present differently in texts - this article proposes the use of content analysis tool for checking the specifics, differences and similarities in a much discussed concept and important to Biology, specifically for Ecology: the concept of ecological niche.

Nesse sentido, a análise desse material como fonte de pesquisa em Educação contribui para que se possa (re)pensar para além da dimensão didática de sua estruturação textual ao mesmo tempo em que permite uma verificação conceitual.
