Plane Geometry with GeoGebra: a pedagogical intervention with Elementary School students

Resumo: This paper was written by a qualitative research, carried out from a pedagogical intervention with the aim of investigating the potential of GeoGebra in plane geometry classes, with students of the 8th grade, Elementary school, of a governmental public school in the city of Manaus (AM). The data were collected through systematic observation, questionnaires and interviews with the students. The data analysis was done through the Textual Discourse Analysis (TDA). Thus, the results suggest that the Pedagogical-Practices-with-Digital-Technologies (PPDT) are essential for the development of a contextualized Mathematics, so that the research reinforces that classes developed with GeoGebra which can contribute for a better use about the content of plane geometry, allowing the interaction with the mathematical knowledge and the digital technologies. However, one of the main difficulties found in the realization of activities with digital technologies is still the inequality in access to electronic devices and the internet accessed by the students and by the teachers, as well as a scenario that still composes the universe of this research which explains the educational reality of some public schools in the outskirts of Manaus.

Los datos se recopilaron mediante observación sistemática, cuestionarios y entrevistas con los estudiantes. El análisis de datos se llevó a cabo a través del análisis de texto discursivo (DTA). Así, los resultados sugieren que las Prácticas-Pedagógicas-con-Tecnologías-Digitales (PPCTD) son fundamentales para el desarrollo de Matemáticas contextualizadas, por lo que la investigación refuerza que las clases desarrolladas con GeoGebra pueden contribuir a un mejor uso del contenido de geometría plana, permitiendo la interacción. con conocimientos matemáticos y tecnologías digitales. Sin embargo, una de las principales dificultades encontradas para realizar actividades con tecnologías digitales sigue siendo la desigualdad en el acceso a dispositivos electrónicos e internet, escenario que aún conforma el universo de esta investigación que explica la realidad educativa de algunas escuelas públicas en las afueras de Manaus.Este estudo ancora-se na pesquisa qualitativa, ora realizada a partir de uma intervenção pedagógica a fim de investigar o potencial do GeoGebra nas aulas de geometria plana, com alunos do 8º ano, do Ensino Fundamental II, de uma escola pública da cidade de Manaus (AM). Os dados foram coletados por meio de observação sistemática, questionários e entrevistas com os estudantes. A análise dos dados deu-se por meio da Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). Assim, os resultados sugerem que as Práticas-Pedagógicas-com-Tecnologias-Digitais (PPCTD) são essenciais para o desenvolvimento de uma Matemática contextualizada, de modo que a pesquisa reforça que aulas desenvolvidas com o GeoGebra podem contribuir para um melhor aproveitamento acerca do conteúdo de geometria plana, permitindo a interação com os conhecimentos matemáticos e as tecnologias digitais.
