A scenario about Statistics Education in the Journal of Science and Mathematics’ Teaching (REnCiMa)

Resumo: This article aims to analyze how research on Statistical Education (EE) published in the Journal of Science and Mathematics Teaching (REnCiMa) from 2010 to February 2023 is presented. The methodological approach is a qualitative research of state of knowledge type, in the meantime, the data were organized from the selection of 54 works forming seven categories of analysis of which we highlight some: theoretical and didactic-pedagogical tendencies, professional development, educational public policies and didactic sequence. The results point to an increase in the number of works over time, mainly from the Southeast region, a more focused focus on the Descriptive Statistics content and point to urgent gaps in the teaching of combinatorics and informal statistical inference. Finally, we conclude that the EE area continues to grow, however, more research in this area is necessary so that we can identify the potentialities and paths that still need to be taken in this field of research.

El enfoque metodológico es una investigación cualitativa de tipo estado del conocimiento, en la cual los datos se organizaron a partir de la selección de 54 pesquisas conformando siete categorías de análisis de las cuales destacamos algunas: tendencias teóricas y didáctico-pedagógicas, desarrollo profesional, políticas públicas educativas y secuencia didáctica. Los resultados apuntan a un aumento en el número de pesquisas a lo largo del tiempo, principalmente de la región Sudeste, un enfoque más centrado en el contenido de Estadística Descriptiva y señalan brechas urgentes en la enseñanza de la combinatoria y la inferencia estadística informal. Finalmente, concluimos que el área de EE continúa creciendo, sin embargo, es necesario más investigación en esta área para que podamos identificar las potencialidades y caminos que aún precisamos atravesar en este campo de investigación.Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar como se apresentam as pesquisas em Educação Estatística (EE) publicadas na Revista de Ensino de Ciências e Matemática (REnCiMa), no período de 2010 a fevereiro de 2023. Quanto à abordagem metodológica, trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa do tipo estado do conhecimento. Os dados foram organizados a partir da seleção de 54 trabalhos formando sete categorias de análise, das quais destacamos: tendências teóricas e didático-pedagógicas; desenvolvimento profissional; políticas públicas educacionais; e sequência didática. Os resultados mostram um aumento na quantidade de trabalhos ao longo do tempo, principalmente, da região Sudeste, bem como um enfoque no conteúdo de Estatística Descritiva; e apontam lacunas urgentes no ensino de combinatória e inferência estatística informal.
