Teaching triangles with Geogebra Software

Resumo: | Using computational resources is increasingly common in the Brazilian classrooms, so analyzing its influence is important. In this article were investigated the effects of a constructivist teaching method using GeoGebra software to discuss triangles concepts. The same mathematics content was taught to another class by traditional method in order to compare different teaching-learning processes. Students of two classes at Middle School of a state school in Rio de Janeiro took part of study. One class used the GeoGebra as an auxiliary tool for figure construction and solving exercises and problems. Observation during the lectures reveals that using GeoGebra promoted more independent and willing discussions between students. From lists of exercises and problems, and tests could be perceived that GeoGebra helped in understanding of triangles and its properties. Statistical data from grades indicated that constructivist teaching using GeoGebra has an advantage over the traditional method. |

O emprego de recursos computacionais é cada vez mais comum nas salas de aula brasileiras. Por isso, analisar sua influência é importante. Neste estudo, foram avaliados os efeitos de um modelo didático construtivista com uso do software GeoGebra para o ensino de triângulos. Com o objetivo de comparar e verificar sua eficácia, o mesmo conteúdo foi ministrado pelo modelo tradicional em outra turma. Duas turmas de oitavo ano do Ensino Fundamental de um colégio estadual do Rio de Janeiro participaram da pesquisa. Em uma delas, o GeoGebra foi utilizado como ferramenta para a construção de figuras geométricas e na resolução de questões. De acordo com a observação durante as aulas, na turma em que o GeoGebra foi usado, os alunos mostraram-se mais independentes e estimulados a discutir o conteúdo matemático. A partir das resoluções das listas e dos testes, notou-se que o software ajudou no entendimento de triângulos e suas propriedades. Os dados estatísticos obtidos apontaram a existência de vantagens no modelo didático construtivista com uso do GeoGebra frente ao modelo tradicional.
