Environmental education contextualized for coexistence with the semi-arid region: knowledge and practices of students at a school in the backlands of Paraíba

Resumo: Contextualized environmental education represents a relevant theme for coexistence with the Brazilian Semiarid region and the critical development of the student. The study aimed to analyze what contributions contextualized an Environmental Education makes in coexistence with the Brazilian Semiarid region with 9th year students at a state school located in the backlands of Paraíba. This is a research with a hybrid, qualitative-quantitative and applied approach composed of three methodological stages, being: (I) Diagnosis of students' environmental perception (pre-test); (II) Pedagogical intervention (experiences); (III) Assessment (post-test and participant observation). Through the results obtained, it was found that, in relation to previous perception, difficulties related to the perception of the environment in which the students are inserted were concentrated, however, after the pedagogical and post-test experiences, the attribution of new meanings to the regional context was observed, environmental, sociocultural and technological aspects related to living with the Brazilian Semiarid region.

El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar contribuciones hace la educación ambiental contextualizada en convivencia con región Semiárida brasileña con estudiantes del 9º año de una escuela estatal ubicada en el interior de Paraíba. Se trata de una investigación con enfoque híbrido, cuali-cuantitativo y aplicado compuesta por tres etapas metodológicas, siendo: (I) Diagnóstico de la percepción ambiental de los estudiantes (pretest); (II) Intervención pedagógica (experiencias); (III) Evaluación (post-test y observación participante). Los resultados obtenidos se encontraron que, con relación a la percepción previa, se concentraron dificultades relacionadas con la percepción del entorno en el que se insertan los estudiantes, sin embargo, luego de las experiencias pedagógicas y post-test, la atribución de nuevos significados a Se observó el contexto regional, aspectos ambientales, socioculturales y tecnológicos relacionados con la convivencia con región Semiárida brasileña.A educação ambiental contextualizada representa uma temática pertinente para a convivência com o Semiárido brasileiro e desenvolvimento crítico do discente. O estudo objetivou analisar quais contribuições a Educação Ambiental contextualizada desempenha na convivência com o Semiárido Brasileiro com os alunos do 9º ano de uma escola estadual situada no sertão paraibano. Trata-se de uma pesquisa com abordagem híbrida, quali-quantitativa e de natureza aplicada composta por três etapas metodológicas, sendo: (I) Diagnóstico da percepção ambiental dos estudantes (pré-teste); (II) Intervenção pedagógica (vivências); (III) Avaliação (pós-teste e observação participante).
